Makin’ Bacon Pancakes


  • 1 C all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 C brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking Powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 Tbsp Melted butter
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • ½ C buttermilk
  • ¾ C Black Butte Porter
  • 8 Slices crisp bacon
  • Additional butter for cooking


In a large bowl whisk together flour, sugar, powder, soda and salt
In a separate bowl whisk together egg, butter, vanilla, beer and buttermilk
Add wet ingredients to dry all at once and stir to combine leaving lumps, do not over mix
Heat skillet on medium heat. Grease with additional butter
Pour batter by ¼ C scoops and top with one slice of bacon cut into two smaller pieces
Cook for 2-3 minutes, until bubbles have formed at edge of pancakes and begun to burst
Flip and cook an additional 2 minutes
Serve with warm syrup, butter, and a glass of Black Butte Porter.
