Have you heard? Twilight Summer Ale is baacccckkkk! Your Facebook messages, comments, emails, phone calls, and petitions worked. We’re giving this refreshing summer sipper another shot in our seasonal line-up.

When our team heard the good news, we got to thinking…is Twilight Summer Ale a trend like bell bottoms and big hair?

It got us thinking…what else came back by popular (or not-so-popular) demand. We surveyed our bi-coastal team of two (bahahahaha) and came up with this list:

Polaroid Cameras – Hmmmm, what’s the draw here when you can use your telephone now as a camera and video tool? Well, it’s so retro! And who doesn’t want to “shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it…like a Polaroid picture.” The old school filter and tangible/touchable image gives you that nostalgic feeling of simpler times before the interwebs and microwave hot pockets. Oh, and it’s a great decor item to push-pin on your corkboard.

Mom Jeans – According to the Huffington Post, “mom jeans are surprisingly edgy if you put in the time to find a pair that flatters your figure.” They are comfortable, a little more appropriate and sophisticated than wearing your yoga pants to your neighbor’s BBQ/Cook-Out, and although they are not as popular as skinny jeans, while you’re wearing them, you’ll never hear someone utter the words, “got crack” from your friends when you bend over to pick up something you’ve dropped.

Vinyl – Did it ever go away? While some of us were distracted by mixed tapes, CD’s, Napster, Pandora, and Spotify, others were building up their record collections $1 at a time at yard sales and flea markets. As the maker-era is on the rise, so is the idea that we want to be in control of our music, to touch it, turn it, clean it, and hear the crackle of old times past. We will even spend $30 to get something on vinyl that we can listen to anytime day or night on app from our smartphone included in our $10 monthly subscription. As the Beatles once said, “Let it be…” and as your wife or husband may say…”leave it be, and don’t touch my vinyl.”

Fanny Packs – Now this one we can get behind. Functional, comfortable, and it comes in every color under the sun, YES! Sometimes you don’t want to fully commit to a backpack that’s gonna weigh you down, or a purse that’s too fancy for your 1-mile hiking loop with the in-laws, so this is the perfect compromise. Just enough space for your celly, chapstick, and one of those protein bars that are not at all tasty, but is a semi-suitable meal replacement substitute when you’re out of restaurant range.

So, back to Twilight Summer Ale…after a two-year hiatus, it’s back for a 13th season of awesomeness, and with it comes the nostalgia of summer memories from years past. Maybe celebrating a graduation, a new addition to the family, an outdoor adventure, or long warm nights on the deck with friends. We hope this summer brings new memories and experiences to look back on and say…”those were the good old times, and I was drinking a damn tasty beer!” Cheers!
