A Match Made in Malt, Hops and Cookie Dough!


Each and every year, Girl Scouts come to the brewery to get us signed up to help out their troops, and to receive some delicious bite-size morsels we all know as...Girl Scout Cookies! Then the idea came to mind: what if we paired these said cookies with our delicious beers? This could be a match made in malt, hops and cookie dough.

Mirror Pond Pale Ale Potato Latkes

4-5 large russet potatoes, peeled
1 small white onion, finely grated
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/4 C Mirror Pond Pale Ale
3 Tbs all-purpose flour
1 Tbs coarse salt
Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
Vegetable or grape seed oil, for frying

Mirror Pond Pale Ale Butter

1.25 lbs. softened butter
3/4 C Mirror Pond Pale Ale


Mix butter in a kitchenaid or other mixer for 1 minute

Add beer slowly mixing on low until incorporated

Store in the fridge up to 1 week

Black Butte Porter Stuffing

1 large onion, chopped
3/4 C mix of cremini and shiitake mushrooms
3 celery stalks, chopped
9 C soft bread cubes
1 tsp salt
1 Tbs fresh thyme, chopped
1/2 C dried cherries, heated just until warm
1/2 C Black Butte Porter

Beer Pancakes

Spent Grain White Chocolate Chip Cranberry Cookies

1 ½ C spent grain
1 ½ C flour
1 Tsp baking soda

Creole-Inspired Obsidian Stout Chili

1 pound ground beef, turkey, or pork
1/2 pounds sausage, sliced (andouille preferred)
1/2 pound chicken, chopped (1 can of rinsed and drained red beans can be substituted)
2 medium green bell peppers, chopped
1 medium poblano pepper, chopped
2 stalks of celery, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
2 (or more) cloves of garlic, minced
1/2 C green onions, chopped
1 small can fire roasted green chilis
3 (14 oz) cans of diced tomatoes
1 (12 oz) bottle of Obsidian Stout
1 Tbs chili powd
