Director of Brewery Operations:
Our Director of Brewery Operations leads all functions and processes related to brewing, cellaring, packaging, maintenance and quality control. This Director’s responsibilities include developing a team that functions at a high level of experience, creativity and efficiency. Will have oversight of sourcing all brewing and packaging materials; driving the product development process; continually improving processes to impact quality, consistency and efficiency. This position is involved with marketing efforts, special events, strategic planning, and brewing industry events. The Director of Brewing Operations is a member of our Senior Management and Strategic Planning teams. Position responsibilities will include setting long term vision by developing a strong leadership team to guide brewery operations from current state to expansion in the future with collaboration, continuous improvement, efficiency and safety at the forefront. REQUIRED qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Fermentation Science or comparable specialized experience in brewing science; a minimum 7 years practical experience in brewing, packaging, maintenance and quality control experience; experience with world class manufacturing techniques with the business acumen to anticipate and respond to future needs of our organization; ability to create a strategy to implement continual improvements in brewing and packaging processes; advanced interpersonal skills to effectively communicate across all levels of our business; proven track record in leading and managing change; sound knowledge of financial management tools.
Brewmaster of Product Development:
Our Brewmaster of Product Development will oversee all functions related to new product development and beer production for our Pubs, barrel program and pilot brew system. The successful candidate will have a passion for craft beer and share our desire to constantly push the envelope when it comes to quality and creativity while having the experience and expertise to run a sophisticated and growing brewery. This person will bring outstanding leadership skills, technical & creative expertise and proficiency in brewing operations. Responsibilities will include: Leadership of a team of Assistant Brewmasters; lead beer formulation and innovation; planning for future needs of our brewing department in career development, facility growth and equipment needs; ability to be a leader who develops cohesive, collaborative communications company-wide; support of a lean culture by engaging continuous improvement and problem solving techniques; and representation of Deschutes Brewery in a variety of formats from beer dinners to industry events to media engagements. Our ideal candidate will have a degree in Fermentation Sciences, a minimum of 10 years professional, production brewing experience including knowledge of a broad range of brewing styles, long range planning experience with expansion and equipment purchase to meet design criteria and proven fiscal responsibility. Strong computer proficiency in Office programs is required.
This position will be responsible for the brewing process from preparation of the raw materials through the fermentation process. The successful candidate will have a passion for quality beer, attention to detail and be highly motivated to contribute to company-wide initiatives. This is a full time position at Brew 2 and will include rotating shifts. REQUIREMENTS: A degree or certification in a brewing related program or a minimum of 3 years experience in a production brewing facility, effective communication skills, high degree of organizational skills, ability to follow safety and product quality standards, routine heavy lifting and stair climbing. This position includes rotating shifts from days to swing to graveyard and will include weekends. $18/hr plus shift differential.

Our Account Sales Specialists are responsible for establishing working relationships with On Premise accounts by leading promotions, events and tastings. Responsibilities will include maintaining distributor partnerships and setting accountability to meet established distributor goals, achieving assigned volume goals, conducting staff trainings, executing crew drives and ensuring Deschutes Brewery brand positioning in your territory. You must rock at developing solid relationships, be confident in your communication style, have great time management skills and good computer skills. Previous sales experience within the adult beverage industry will be a strong plus. A passion for the craft beer industry is a MUST. You must be able to say “I would be thrilled to work nights and weekends for Deschutes Brewery!” $50,000/yr.

Our Market Sales Managers are responsible for building and maintaining relationships with our distribution and account partners to bring awareness and distribution of Deschutes Brewery products within a specified market area. Market Sales Managers are accountable for achieving assigned volume and profit goals, assigned distribution goals, volume per outlet goals and securing all account standards. $60,000/yr.
Seasonal Packaging Operator:
Looking for a team player who is self motivated, a hard worker, and has mechanical skills. This position will be approximately 3-6 months and will be considered seasonal temporary. If our production schedule remains at a high level into Spring, 2015; we could be hiring for additional full time, year round positions and the seasonal people will be considered. Must be flexible to work off shifts; swing and graveyard plus weekends. REQUIRED: Basic knowledge of manufacturing equipment maintenance and operation, strong mechanical and trouble shooting skills, focus on safety and product quality standards, routine lifting and problem solving skills. $14/hour plus shift differentials.
Shuttle Driver, Swing and Graveyard shift openings:
Primary responsibilities of this position are to support the Packaging and Shipping teams by moving packaged product in an efficient, timely and safe manner from the upper loading dock to the warehouse (all driving is on Deschutes Brewery production facility property). Pallets then need to be off loaded by forklift and organized properly in the warehouse. Will assist with preventative maintenance on the tractor trailer. Safety and a sharp eye for detail are top priorities. REQUIREMENTS: Class A CDL, strong forklift experience, ability to regularly lift up to 75 lbs., effective problem solving skills, highly motivated to work independently, high level of accuracy and attention to detail. We prefer experience with Excel, Outlook and Word. $18/hr. plus shift differential.
Our Maintenance department is hiring two LME Maintenance Techs--one for swingshift and one for graveyard. The primary responsibilities will be maintaining production packaging and brewing equipment with work on energy sources, minor emergency fabrication and maintenance electrical. Both shifts will include weekend work with mid week days off. REQUIREMENTS: LME license, a minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, PLC programming experience, light fabrication and well rounded mechanical skills. You must have a positive attitude and the ability to work unsupervised, good communication skills and knowledge of industry safe work practices. This position requires routine lifting up to 50 pounds. $21/hour
