Yakima Fresh Hop Festival

Fresh hop beers in the land of the fresh hops!
Sat, Oct 6
5 pm - 10 pm
Millennium Arts Plaza
South 3rd and Yakima Avenue
Yakima, WA
In the heart of downtown Yakima on the first Saturday of October, something amazing happens.

Tented pavilions go up, tables and chairs appear, beer taps are tested, wine bars and food vendors arrive, a bandstand materializes. By the time the gates open at five o'clock, thanks to an army of volunteers, an ordinary parking lot transforms into the Fresh Hop Ale Festival, one of the nation's ten best fall beer festivals!

This premiere Washington beer festival celebrates the world's number one hops producer, the Yakima Valley. For a brew to be considered a “fresh hop ale” for the festival competition, it must be produced with hops that were picked no more than 24 hours prior to brewing.

At our ale festival, you'll learn how hand-crafted ales are made in the demonstration tent, taste beers from all over the region including Deschutes Brewery, sample wines, nosh great food, enjoy a cigar, and dance!

On top of all of that, you're supporting the arts in the Yakima Valley. Proceeds from the Fresh Hop Ale Festival benefit Allied Arts of the Yakima Valley, providing nearly 20% of the annual budget in support of arts programs for all ages.

So while you may be coming simply to enjoy what the Washington Beer Blog and Road Trips for Beer call "one of the Ten Best Fall Beer Festivals in America," you're also a philanthropist. We consider that amazing!

We'll see you at the Fresh Hop Ale Festival October 6th. Come ready to party!
