Hop Trip. Celebrate the fall hop harvest! Standing on a platform at the top of a massivehop kiln, Brewmaster Larry Sidor says he has identified the world’s best aroma: freshly harvested hops. He said, “…these are the aromas I want to capture and get into the beer. It just makes me want to jump in and roll around in there!” He settled for creating one of the finest smelling and tasting beers around!  ABV 5.2% IBU’s 30

Jubelale. Luscious holiday notes inspire thoughts of snow, friends and family, Jubelaleand this delicious winter warmer. Tracy Leagjeld became part of a long tradition of Jubelale-inspired artists. Her artwork graces the label this year.  She says, “…one of my favorite things about Central Oregon winters is how often we wake up to blue skies after a winter storm…”We couldn’t agree more. THE BEER COMMANDMENTS
Rules to Live By: Creating a Doctrine for Beer Lovers

We all have rules for everyday living. Even beer rules. Even if we break them sometimes, they are still our guide. Here are a few of beer commandments we’ve come up with, but we need your help filling our scroll.

1. Thou shalt enjoy the beer in thy hand.
2. Thou shalt buy a round if a round was bought for you.
3. Thou shalt not take the last beer without a restocking plan.
4. Thou shalt not vomit in thy neighbor’s garbage can. Especially when it is thy neighbor who provided the beer.

Email efrank@deschutesbrewery.com with your beer commandment. If it’s good, we’ll add it to our scroll on the website and send ya’ something you can use.

THE FANTASTIC FANATIC
Where are the True Super Fans?

This just in from a friend of a friend, regarding Black Butte XXI…
“…O yeah, baby! An hombre respected in quantifiable measures, one big mug at a time: Some claim he’s not very lean with his long dark measures but mean in a good way as when you say “bad” but really mean good. That is, his cloudy proportions underscore your first impression. You sense danger and a thrill and with one look from the big bad dude, you realize you’ve been called out --- and you’re immensely serene by the prospect.

Hey, seriously, THANK YOU SO MUCH for the Black Butte XXI and Red Chair IPA. It’s like Christmastime for adults: all jingle and bell. You’ve made all my dreams come true.”
