Community Involvement
Home means a lot to Deschutes. We’d be nowhere without the inspiration of this place and the support of the community. In response, we’ve contributed more than $3,000,000 to organizations in Bend and the places we do business. As folks around here will tell you, sharing is part of the Deschutes DNA.
About
Each year, Deschutes Brewery dedicates $1 per barrel sold to charities throughout the community to help fulfill its goal of helping to build a healthier society. With giving ranging from environmental causes that are near and dear to the company’s Oregon roots, all the way to assisting kids in need through local service organizations. A cross-departmental team of passionate individuals help to guide community giving for the company, which equals more than a quarter of a million dollars annually.
SAGEBRUSH CLASSIC
The Sagebrush Classic and Classic Feast, founded by Deschutes Brewery, have been serving the Central Oregon community for the past 23 years. In that time, more than $3,000,000 has been raised for Central Oregon nonprofit organizations that serve the community’s most urgent needs. For a variety of reasons, the Sagebrush Operating Board has decided to postpone holding another event until 2013.
“We have chosen to take the time to elevate the Sagebrush Classic to the caliber of event we know we can produce, one that is worthy of this great community and the causes it serves,” said Gary Fish, founder and president of Deschutes Brewery and the Sagebrush Classic. “This was a tough decision as we are all very attached to the Sagebrush Classic and what it has meant to our community. We look forward to making the event bigger and better in 2013.”

How to Apply
Funding decisions are made by our Community Involvement Committee, a group of employees from throughout the brewery. Deschutes Brewery looks for non-profit organizations that demonstrate creativity, diversity and an innovative approach to their mission and objectives. The Donation committee also looks for organizations that are directly meaningful or already supported by our employees themselves.
We will consider all requests meeting our guidelines equally. To request a donation, please fill out this donation request form completely and email, mail or fax it back to us. Please note that completing the form does not guarantee a donation; it is a way for us to learn more about your event and determine if we are able to offer support at this time. All requests must be submitted a minimum of 60 days prior to your event to be considered. Because of the number of requests we receive and the fact that our committee meets monthly, it can take several weeks to process your request.
