The first hog roast of the year is March 31st with Deschutes Brewery. Armory XPA from the Deschutes Pub in Portland will be pouring as well as easy drinking Deschutes River Ale.

Ingredients
¾ C milk
2 Tbs apple cider vinegar
1 C all-purpose flour
2 Tbs white sugar
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp kosher or sea salt
1 egg
2 Tbs butter, melted
1 C blueberries
Cooking spray
½ C Sour Cream
Obsidian Stout Syrup:
1 C Obsidian Stout
1 C brown sugar
1 C maple syrup ( the good stuff)
½ tsp vanilla extract

Venison Stew
Ingredients
2 lbs venison stew meat
1 C all-purpose flour
1 yellow onion, diced
4 carrots, cut into 1 inch rounds
3 stalks celery, 1 inch pieces
2 Tbs garlic, chopped
1 sprig rosemary, chopped
4 Tbs butter
4 oz Obsidian Stout
2 Tbs thyme, dry
1 lb fingerling potatoes, 1 inch coins
1 lb mushrooms of your choice
6 C beef stock
1/2 C red wine
Pinch of salt and black pepper
