Course 1. Spent Grain Bread Sticks with Beer Cheese dipping sauce paired with Twilight Summer Ale.

Course 2. Cajun Mandarin Chicken Salad with Poppy seed red wine vinaigrette paired with Chainbreaker White IPA.

Course 3. Palate Cleansing Sorbet with River Trail Ale.

Course 4. Barley Beef Bacon Wrapped Tenderloin paired with Hop in the Dark, Cascadian Dark Ale.

Join Kaitlin Walker of Deschutes Brewery at Izzy's - Fort Wright on Thursday June 12, 2014 at 7:00pm for Izzy's monthly beer dinner. The brews will be Inversion IPA, abv 6.8% enter, if you will, all the glorious aromatic complexity of the hop. This big, bold IPA’s intense multi-hop kick gets a subtle dose of restraint from select Crystal and Carastan malts. For discriminating hop heads. Also paired up, Black Butte Porter, abv 5.2%, a slight hop bitterness up front enhances the distinctive chocolate and roasted finish. It’s prized for its creamy mouthfeel and intense complex flavors.

The beauty of Pickett’s Charge is to watch and race with the aforementioned talented pro racers (okay, usually from behind) enthusiastic masters, juniors and beginner mountain bike racers. The goal of Pickett’s Charge in Don Leet’s words is to “have the funnest course with the most single track.”

Guess it’s a good thing that a large part of the race takes place on a trail called “Funner.” Also a good thing the race ends with a cold pint of Deschutes Brewery beer in your hand! Couldn't think of a better way to end this mountain bike race! Cheers!

The course is a 13.1 mile loop in the Phil's Trail area west of Bend. The trail is very runnable with a handful of small technical sections. There will be post-race goodies with tasty food provided by Pizza Mondo and Longboard Louie's as well as lots of other post race fuel at the finish. Music to your ears in the form of a live band and beer garden, serving up Deschutes Brewery's award winning Down and Dirty IPA for a job well done! See you at the finish line!
