A Festive Winter Ale

Did you know that Jubelale was the first beer ever bottled by Deschutes Brewery?  Highly anticipated every fall, Jubelale is in a category of its own with a flavor and following that is impossible to match.  Dark crystal malt creates that “luscious” holiday note while the roasty flavor and bountiful hops excite your tastebuds, reminding you why Jubelale is the perfect holiday beer.

Every year Deschutes Brewery selects a Northwest artist to create an image evocative of the season’s festive atmosphere. Lindy Gruger Hanson, who lives in Bend, painted a playful scene of starry, snowflake-like symbols above an abstract range of sawtooth mountains.

“I was thinking of winter festivities and fun, and that for me, brings up images of snow and being outside,” said Gruger Hanson, “I love mountains and celestial images too. So snowflakes and sky and blue mountains were a natural progression from these thoughts, and I combined all these ideas into creating the Jubelale painting.”  More of Lindy's work can be viewed at www.lgruger.com.
